ÖZET
Simone de Beauvoir, hem İkinci Dalga Feminizmin hem de aynı dönemde ortaya çıkan feminist bakım etiğinin önemli öncellerinden biri olarak kabul edilir. Ancak Beauvoir ile çağdaş feminist etik arasında bağ kurmayı amaçlayan çalışmalar, çoğunlukla yazarın İkinci Cinsiyet veya Müphemlik Ahlakı Üzerine gibi felsefi metinlerine odaklanmaktadır. Oysa Beauvoir’ın otobiyografik yazıları da düşüncesinin gelişimini anlamak açısından temel kaynaklar olup, felsefi denemelerini tamamlayan metinler olarak değerlendirilmelidir. Bu çalışmada, bu otobiyografik metinlerden biri olan Sessiz Bir Ölüm’ü inceleyerek, eserin Beauvoir’ın düşüncesi ile bakım etiği arasında önemli bir köprü kurduğunu göstermeyi amaçlıyorum.
Beauvoir’ın annesine kanser teşhisi konmasının ardından geçirdiği tedavi sürecini ve ölümünü anlatan bu eser, feminist bakım etiğinde merkezi önem taşıyan ilişkisellik, kırılganlık ve ahlaki müphemlik gibi temaları işleyerek, bakım deneyiminin duygusal ve etik boyutlarını görünür kılan bir düşünsel zemin sunmaktadır.

ABSTRACT
Simone de Beauvoir is considered one of the key pioneers of both Second Wave Feminism and the feminist ethics of care that emerged during the same period. However, studies aiming to connect Beauvoir with contemporary feminist ethics often focus on her phil osophical texts, such as The Second Sex or The Ethics of Ambiguity. Yet Beauvoir's autobiographical writings are also essential sources for understanding the development of her thought and should be seen as complementary to her philosophical essays. In thi s study, I aim to show that one of these autobiographical works, A Very Easy Death, establishes a significant bridge between Beauvoir’s philosophy and care ethics. This work, which narrates the treatment process and death of Beauvoir’s mother after her diagnosis of cancer, explores themes such as relationality, vulnerability, and moral ambiguity—central concepts in feminist care ethics—and provides an intellectual framework that brings the emotional and ethical dimensions of the caregiving experience into focus.
